Google Play Console Business Account

This guide explains step by step how to create a Google Play Console account for a business, which is required to publish Android applications on Google Play under a legal entity.

PREREQUISITES

Before getting started, make sure you have:

  • A Google account (Gmail or corporate Google account)
  • Official company details:
    • Legal company name
    • Registered business address
    • Tax identification number (VAT / EIN / local equivalent)
  • A D-U-N-S® Number (may be required for business verification)
  • A valid payment method (credit or debit card)
  • Access to a mobile phone for verification purposes

Step-by-Step Enrollment Guide

Step 1: Obtain a DUNS Number

Google requires a DUNS Number to verify your company’s legal identity.

  1. Check if your company already has a DUNS Number here.
  2. If not listed, request one here by providing:
    • Legal company name
    • Registered business address
    • Country
    • Contact person details
    • Business type and size

The DUNS Number is typically sent to your email shortly after submission.

Step 2: Access Google Play Console

  1. Open your browser and go to: https://play.google.com/console
  2. Sign in with the Google account that will manage the business account
  3. Click “Get started” or “Create account”

Step 3: Select Account Type

  1. Choose Organization / Business account
  2. Confirm that you will publish apps on behalf of a legal entity

⚠️ Important: This choice determines the developer name displayed publicly on Google Play.

Step 4: Developer Profile Information

Set up the information that will be publicly visible on Google Play:

  • Developer name (usually the company’s trade name)
  • Contact email (required)
  • Contact phone number (optional)
  • Website (optional)

This information appears on your app’s store listing.

Step 5: Pay the Registration Fee

  1. Enter your payment details
  2. Complete the one-time $25 USD payment
  3. Wait for the payment confirmation

Access to Play Console is usually granted within a few minutes.

Step 6: Account Verification

Google may require additional verification steps, such as:

  • SMS or phone call verification
  • Identity verification of the account owner
  • Additional business documentation (in some cases)

Follow the instructions shown in Google Play Console.

Step 7: Manage Users and Permissions

After creating the account, you should follow the next document -> Store Access
